XCAPE238
Cookie Policy
Last updated: 22 October 2026
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on the XCape238 event website, and the choices available to you.
1. Introduction
XCape238 uses browser storage to remember your cookie preferences and, only with functional consent, your music-welcome choice. These are similar technologies covered by this policy even though they are not cookies.
No analytics, advertising pixels, marketing trackers, embedded video players, maps, social feeds or ticketing widgets are currently installed in the website’s application code. Accepting a category does not add a tracking service. If new purposes or services are introduced, this policy and our consent request will be updated before optional processing begins.
2. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to store. They may be sent back to that website on later requests. First-party cookies are set for the website you visit; third-party cookies are set for another provider’s domain. Session cookies normally end with your browser session; persistent cookies last until their expiry or until deleted.
Local storage and session storage hold information in your browser without automatically sending it with every request. Local storage can survive browser restarts. Session storage is scoped to a browser tab and normally ends when that tab’s session ends.
3. How We Use Cookies
Necessary storage records whether you accept or reject optional categories, so we can respect your choice across pages and later visits. Optional functional storage remembers whether you chose to play music or continue silently in the current tab, avoiding a repeated welcome prompt.
Event navigation, countdowns, photographs, animations and ticket links do not depend on optional cookie consent. Music is requested only after you use a music control; it remains available if you reject optional storage. Booking happens on the separate Jotform website, not inside this website.
4. Types of Cookies
Strictly necessary
Storage genuinely needed to respect your cookie choices is always active. It is not used to profile or track you.
Analytics
Analytics can measure website visits and page popularity, but no analytics service is currently installed. This category defaults off and requires an explicit choice.
Marketing
Marketing can measure promotions or support advertising, but no marketing or advertising tracker is currently installed. This category defaults off and requires an explicit choice.
Functional
Optional storage supports enhanced features. Currently it only remembers your music-welcome choice for the tab’s session. It defaults off, requires consent and can be withdrawn.
5. Cookies Used on This Website
The following first-party storage keys are verified in the current application. Neither is a cookie. No application-set cookies were identified on the inspected public pages.
Verification limits: this inventory covers the application code and browser checks of the current website preview. Hosting-layer cookies on the custom domain and cookies set after navigating to external services need a separate live-domain review. No unverified cookie names or durations are represented as confirmed.
6. Third-Party Services
- Jotform: ticket and deposit buttons navigate to our official booking form. Jotform is not embedded or loaded before you follow a booking link. Its own cookies and storage are managed on its website; we cannot control or delete them here. See Jotform’s Privacy Policy.
- Google Fonts: our typography loads from Google’s font servers when a page opens. Google receives the request and associated connection information, such as your IP address. This is a font request, not an installed analytics or marketing tag. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Instagram and GOV.UK: ordinary external links open these services only when selected. They are not embedded social feeds or maps. Their own policies apply once you visit.
- Website media: approved photographs and the two music tracks are delivered through our website’s asset service. No external music-player widget is used.
Accepting cookies here does not constitute consent to independent tracking on another website. Review that provider’s choices when you visit.
7. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
Use Accept All to enable all optional category preferences, Reject Non-Essential to keep only necessary consent storage, or Manage Preferences to choose individual categories. Optional switches start off. Scrolling, browsing or closing preferences does not grant consent.
Cookie Settings appears in every page’s footer. Reopen it at any time, switch off any category and select Save My Preferences to withdraw consent. Functional withdrawal immediately removes the music-welcome session key. There are no installed analytics or marketing cookies to clear.
We can remove our own identified optional storage, but cannot directly delete third-party cookies or cookies on another domain. Use the provider’s settings or your browser to manage those. If your browser blocks local storage, the choice applies for the current page session but cannot be remembered for future visits.
8. Browser Cookie Settings
Your browser’s privacy or site-data settings let you inspect, block and delete cookies and browser storage. The wording differs by browser: look for Cookies, Site Data or Privacy in Settings. You can usually delete data for XCape238 only, rather than all websites.
Deleting consent storage causes our banner to appear again. Blocking all storage may prevent preferences from being remembered. Browser controls for other websites are separate from the choices made here.
9. Cookie Retention
Your consent record contains the date, policy version and choices. We honour it for a 180-day operational review interval, then ask again. This is a documented review choice, not a legally prescribed period or a substitute for reassessing consent when purposes change. A material change to purposes or processing requires a new policy version and renewed consent sooner.
Local storage has no automatic browser expiry: an expired or outdated record is removed when you next visit the website. You can delete it earlier in browser settings. Music-welcome storage ends with the tab’s session or is removed when functional consent is withdrawn. No session or persistent application cookies are currently set.
10. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may revise this policy when website technology, services, cookie purposes or legal requirements change. The date above identifies this revision. New optional processing will not be activated using consent for a materially different purpose.
This policy and the consent controls are designed to support UK GDPR and PECR requirements, and relevant EU GDPR/ePrivacy requirements. They are not a guarantee of legal compliance; the organiser should review the live website and any external booking or promotional tools before relying on the inventory.
